How to invoice by talking to your AI

24 July 2026

Most invoicing tools want you to stop what you're doing, open a tab, click through a form, and type out what you already know. InvoiceBadger takes a different route: you just tell your AI what you did, and it keeps the invoice up to date for you.

What is MCP invoicing?

MCP (the Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude talk to real tools. InvoiceBadger runs an MCP server, so once you connect it, your AI can add clients, log hours, raise invoices and mark them paid on your behalf.

What it looks like in practice

After connecting InvoiceBadger to Claude, you type things like:

No forms, no tab-switching, no remembering which button raises a new invoice. You describe the work; the badger does the admin.

How to connect it

Create a free account, open your settings, and copy your MCP URL. Add it as a connector in Claude (or any MCP client), sign in with your InvoiceBadger email, and the tools appear. From then on you can drive your whole invoicing from chat.

Prefer clicking?

There's also a plain, fast web dashboard for when you'd rather do it by hand: create invoices, add time or fixed-fee lines, and send a clean public link your client can view and print to PDF. Same data, two front doors.

InvoiceBadger is free to start and built for UK freelancers, in GBP by default. Create your account and give the boring bit to a badger.
